Obama's Election Night Arcived With Iterasi

It’s just over a year since President Obama has been in office and, being a web archiving company, we get a little nostalgic. Do you remember the anxiety, excitement and suspense of election night?

You know what would be amazing? If we could go back and see what the news sites said that historical day when the first African American President was elected President of the United States. But, shucks… there’s absolutely no way to find those pages from last year, right?

You’re right, there is no way to find those web pages from last year. The New York Times is still around, and so is the Hindustan Times, Le Monde and many others, but there’s no way to re-create their homepages from election night.

But don’t despair! Mindy McAdams and Iterasi have you covered. Mrs. McAdams and one of her students spent election night archiving the front pages of 98 news sites. From the New York Post to the Hindustan to Le Monde. Now you can view all of these 98 front pages on the Iterasi archives.

Web content is transient, but that doesn’t make the information unimportant. Our archiving engine makes it possible to save any webpage in the world. And our application, PositivePress allows you to systematically archive everything about a topic over time. What will you save?

Thanks very much for the link. I need to offer a correction — I did not have anything to do with compiling the lovely archive. It was all the work of our clever doctoral student, Gary Ritzenthaler, who likes to stay up late.
