Have you ever been through a power point marathon? Those final iterations are just hell. That last five minutes - you just have to get it done.
My office kitchen is looking sweet. Someone taped a piece of paper over one of the garbage cans. It says “recycling.” People keep using the refrigerator. I keep the office open pretty much all day.
It may be post marathon delusion but a part of me really loves those power points. I once got a bunch of Norwegian board members all juiced up. I created a super hero with a viking twist. I had that super hero all over the presentation. They loved it. Another time, I had a software executive start a presentation by telling them that one day his suit would be powered by a chip with electronic designs developed by folks just like them. Thomas Dolby then spent an hour talking about the Internet and music. Goes to show you that hanging out with a rock star can be damn good for your business. :-)
Robert Scoble’s perspective on power points: Podtech and why one VC just hates boring presentations. Robert - who doesn’t hate a boring power point?
Rocketboom show about Battle Decks at SXSW…. “contestants improvise conference presentations from previously unseen powerpoint slides.” It’s power point meets karaoke…

Have you seen Guy K’s post on PPT best practices? Some one sent it to me the other day and it’s good.
I will check it out. Thanks, MK. :-)
