Today we are launching some great new features. Of these features, one has been shown in public (the Scheduler) and another has been asked for a lot (Mac support). The other new features are an evolution of our product based on user input and our own brainstorming (Public Pages, Short URL). Below is a brief of each feature and some of the thoughts behind why they are here.
MAC Support: Starting today we offer support for Firefox 2 and 3 on OS 10.5 and greater for Intel and PowerPC Macs. OK this one took a lot longer than anyone would have imagined. I sure got a ton of email asking ‘So where is the Mac version?”. Note that I have no good excuses to offer you so I won’t make any up. Sorry this took so long but welcome to our Mac user friends.
The Scheduler: This handy tool allows you to have iterasi notarize pages on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Like a personal WayBackMachine, the iterasi Scheduler can be used to capture your favorite web pages. How can this be used? You can use the Scheduler to capture your favorite blog, retail site, journalist, and newsfeed … any site that you want to capture on a periodic basis. The Scheduler is useful for daily sites that you don’t want to miss – like bloggers and journalists – or retail sites that have great daily offers. The Scheduler is also useful for sites that you want to track over time, like a politician’s site, where you may want to track the number of supporters or their ‘evolving’ messages, or a competitor’s site, where you might want to track announcements and changes in their messaging. The uses for the Scheduler are limited by your imagination.
Public Pages: People today in our social-centric Web are very interested in sharing their digital identity in various forms. To make sharing of pages easy and automatic, we create a Public Webpage for each iterasi user (called ‘My Public Pages’ from the iterasi viewer). Any page not marked PRIVATE is viewable from this Public Page and available for friends, family and co-workers to see and optionally subscribe to with an RSS reader or by using the iterasi widget.
Short URL: We introduced the embed code some time ago based on feedback that bloggers would like to include iterasi thumbnails into their blogs. Then we got feedback asking for a short URL so that iterasi pages could be referred to in situations where a graphical embed was impractical such as a written journal or a tweet/microblog. So in this release when you ask for an Embed Code in the View page we also give you a Short URL. We use the domain ‘http://sqrl.it’, short for ‘Squirrel It’, a term one of our engineers came up with to signify the use of iterasi to squirrel away pages.
We hope you like the features we’ve added in this release. The Mac version is way overdue and I apologize for the delay. The Scheduler offers individuals the ability to monitor and archive the Web in ways they’ve never been able to before. It also offers a platform for further features that we will release over the next few months. The Public Pages allow users to share and subscribe easily, and also offers a glimpse into some exciting capabilities in the future. And finally, our sqrl.it short url feature should make iterasi easier to use.
So please give our new features a try and let me know what you think at [email protected]

Is it too much to presume that OS 10.4 support is forthcoming? ‘Cause there are still plenty of us who haven’t upgraded to Leopard yet, for various reasons, and would still like to be able to use your product. If it is coming, when do you expect that to be, and if it’s not, why the heck not?
Thanks,
Clint Hayes
We are. We had it working but didn’t have the 10.4 disks so we couldn’t test it thoroughly. I am off to Gnomedex so if you would ping me next week and I’ll see if we can get you a build.
