Custom Feeds
What are custom feeds? Custom feeds allow you to add special content to PositivePress using RSS feeds.
PositivePress automatically grabs content from the biggest sources on the web when you create a topic, but you may need to bring in content from a niche blog or news source. With custom feeds, you have the ability to bring in content from anywhere on the web that supports RSS.
There are two ways to add a custom feed: the Add Feed Wizard, and the Advanced Add Feed.
The Add Feed Wizard
The Add Feed Wizard allows you to create a custom feed on the fly. For instance, if you want PositivePress to grab any time your keyword shows up on the popular site Digg.com, you can simply choose Digg from the drop-down menu and enter your keyword in the term box.
To add a custom feed from the Add Feed Wizard, first go to the Topics page. Then:
1: Click ‘Add Feed’ in the lower left hand of the Add Topic window.
2: Select the website you'd like to search from the drop-down list.
3: Enter your keyword in the keyword box to the right of the drop-down list.
4: Create or choose a folder and tags to put the results in.
Click ‘OK’ and your new custom feed will begin capturing results on your keyword from the site you chose.
The Advanced Add Feed
The Advanced Add Feed allows you to enter the URL of any RSS feed on the internet for PositivePress to capture results from.
To add a custom feed from the Advanced Add Feed, first go to the Topics page. Then:
1: Click ‘Add Feed’ in the lower left hand of the Add Topic window.
2: Click ‘Advanced Add Feed’ in the lower left hand of the Add Feed Wizard.
3: Enter the URL of the feed in the URL field.
